Project Description: GSA was invited by the City of Edmonton’s Urban Design section to organize and facilitate a series of engagement workshops on future design guidelines for tall buildings in Edmonton. This work involved a number of in-depth engagement sessions with numerous developers from around Edmonton with experience building high-rises in the city.
Each workshop included different exercises that allowed participants to share their opinions and values about the design of tall buildings in a constructive and purposeful way. The design of these workshops has also been flexible for the project team to pivot and address emerging issues and to give agency to participants to steer the process towards issues that are important to them.
In addition to facilitating the workshops, the staff at GSA have also been involved in developing comprehensive and transparent What We Heard summaries of each event.
