Green Space Alliance (GSA Consulting Inc.) was retained by West Pacific Corp. to prepare and submit a rezoning application for the property located at 10015 – 113 Street NW in Oliver, a mature neighbourhood in Edmonton. The “U” shape building form of this six-storey building is a common approach to infill development. It not only provides adequate street interface but also high efficiency from an architectural perspective to make the design economically feasible. The landscape features are simple but well-designed in keeping with the form and architectural expression of the building. High-quality planting provides an attractive street interface offering additional natural elements to complement the overall streetscape. Ground-oriented units have individual, landscaped outdoor amenity spaces to provide both privacy for residents and transparency to the streets. Building materials resonate with many buildings found in Oliver and are used to delineate and articulate the building features, reduce perceived massing, and create human-scaled interaction at the street level.
