Project Description
GSA was appointed to develop a Master Plan for the International Cultural District, a 0.35 sqkm site, located within Guiyang, China. The key theme of the Master Plan was to integrate traditional Chinese and Western architectural elements to create an entertainment and cultural district to be enjoyed by citizens and visitors alike.
Urban designers from the GSA’s design team strategically placed traditional landmark features such as Chinese pagoda at one end of the site while placing a modern Ferris Wheel on the other end of the site along a water canal. The proposed International Cultural District is planned to create an identity that fosters diverse economic opportunities.
