Project Description
GSA is currently leading a multi-disciplinary team to develop an Urban Interface Plan for Edmonton’s historic Chinatown.
The key objective of this project is to build on the recommendations established in the Chinatown Economic Development Plan and develop a framework for potential urban design interventions. The Urban Interface Plan will provide detailed direction for short-term and long-term urban design interventions in Chinatown’s Economic Development Zone. Our work will also focus on addressing the unique social and cultural challenges faced by this area. The Plan will ultimately provide a roadmap for Chinatown’s long-term revitalization and focus on improving Chinatown’s connections to Edmonton’s Civic Core.
